NS is looking for enthusiastic candidates for a Kickstart position in IT and Electrical Engineering! This unique one-year program offers you the opportunity to gain relevant work experience within NS while developing your professional, language, and cultural skills in te same time.

What does the Kickstart Job include ?

The Kickstart Job is a unique 12-month work and learn program for status holders with a WO or HBO education background. During this program, you'll have the opportunity to gain work experience, develop professionally, and strengthen your position in the job market. The Kickstart Job consists of:

• A paid workplace within NS in which you are guided by colleagues, a buddy and a team leader;
• A structured program in four phases in which you are gradually introduced, grow into your role and get to know the Dutch work culture;
• Coaching and training focused on professional and personal development;
• Opportunity to further improve your Dutch in the workplace in combination with business language training;
• Orientation on next steps within NS with sustainable work as the goal.

About the department

You will be placed in a team that matches your profile and learning objectives, namely IT (e.g. Management, Platform or Front-End focused on end users) or departments where electrical engineering knowledge is important.

This is what you need

• You have an excellent command of the Dutch language at level B2 or higher.
• You live in the Netherlands and have a valid residence permit (status holder).
• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or IT.
• You preferably already have work experience in your country of origin or have done volunteer work in the Netherlands in the required field
• You've previously worked in large organizations. Previous experience in logistics or transport is a plus.
• You are available for at least 32 to 36 hours per week.
• You are eager to learn and aware of your own qualities and development points, both professionally and personally, and within a team context.

This is the selection process

Refugee Talent Hub will make a pre-selection based on the requirements, where a maximum of 20 candidates will be selected.

Selected candidates will be called for a 30-minute telephone interview, during which we will discuss requirements, their motivation, career goals, and connection with previous work experience.

Based on these interviews, 10 candidates will be advised to NS. A maximum of four kickstart jobs will be available for these candidates. There will be at least 2 job interviews at NS for these positions.
