Meet-and-greet Rabobank: for a spot in the Global Traineeship and in the Risk Management Traineeship!
Are you a junior professional with a maximum of 2 years working experience? Are you convinced that you want to work for a bank but you don’t know precisely in what role? Do you have the energy, decisiveness and enthusiasm to get the most out of yourself? Are you ready to get out of your comfort zone and willing to reflect on yourself on a daily basis in order to grow? Then apply to one of these traineeships! There’s one spot available in each traineeship.

1. Rabobank Global Traineeship
The Rabobank Global Traineeship offers you the opportunity to get to know Rabobank in 16 months and to be busy with many interesting facets of the organisation such as Markets, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Innovation, Rabobank Foundation and Rabo Development. You will rotate four times during your traineeship, so you will be working in four different departments.
About this traineeship
These rotations are chosen based on your study background, preference and growth potential. An international rotation can be part of this. In addition, personal development is a big part of the programme, which you will do in different, diverse groups and in several challenges. Whilst working within the different departments, you will also start to improve yourself, both professionally and personally, through (development) training on soft- and hard skills. In addition, a buddy, a former trainee, helps you to find your way within the bank and you will be guided by a talent manager and a mentor. 2. Risk Management Traineeship
Do you have a particular interest in Risk Management? During this Risk Management Traineeship you’ll learn the fine points of Rabobank’s risk management inside and out, in 18 months time. In Risk Management we have a great responsibility ensuring we maintain a strong risk & integrity culture. The Chief Risk Officer domain has more than 3.500 colleagues working across the globe in areas like Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, IT Risk, Market Risk, Climate Risk, etc.
About this traineeship
This program is designed to give you a broad view of Risk Management by offering 4 rotations across the domain. In addition to day-to-day work, you’ll work on side projects and join the Rabobank’s young professional network in a personal development journey. A buddy system provides you with help in finding your way around the bank and to join social events. You will also receive coaching from a talent manager. If you successfully complete these 18 months, you’ll start the rest of your career as Risk Manager, Data Scientist, Credit Analyst, Specialist Financial Restructuring, Compliance Officer, Change coordinator, Project manager, etc. Read here about a trainee’s experience!
You and your talent
- You are a candidate with a refugee background and you hold a status in the Netherlands;
- You have a master’s degree (this can be obtained in your country of origin);
- You have approximately 0 to 2 years of work experience;
- You have an excellent command of the English language;
- You have a clear motivation to work for Rabobank;
- You have a clear motivation for one of these traineeships;

What does Rabobank offer you
If you’re selected to start with one of the traineeships, Rabobank offers you a (paid) contract for 16 or 18 months (depending on the traineeship). After successfully completing the traineeship you’ll receive a permanent contract.
About the meet-and-greet
If you’re selected for the meet-and-greet, you’ll meet Rabobank live on Friday 26 January 2024. On that day you’ll get more information about Rabobank and these two traineeships. You’ll have a short interview with a recruiter or hiring manager of Rabobank in which you’ll introduce yourself and explain your motivation. If there’s a match on both sides, you’ll be invited for a follow up selection process. This will consist of an assessment, working on a business case and a follow up interview. If you’ll be selected for the traineeship; the starting day will be 1st of April 2024.
To prepare you for the meet-and-greet there’s a mandatory online preparation session by Refugee Talent Hub on Monday 15 January 2024, at 09.30 – 10.30 hrs (Due to circumstances, the date has been moved from January 18 to January 15, 2024)
Important information

- Meet-and-greet Rabobank Friday 26 January 10.00 – 13.00 hrs;
- (If selected after meet-and-greet) further selection procedure during February 2024;
- Start traineeship: 1st April 2024;
Deadline for registration is Tuesday 5 December, 2023 and please do not forget to upload your CV. If we have sufficient applications before that date we can close the registration early.
The applicants who fit the first four criteria under ‘you and your talent’ will receive a google form on Wednesday 13 December 2023. In this form we will ask you some more information; especially about your motivation. Selections to take part in the meet-and-greet will be made on the basis of this information.
