Global Traineeship

Rabobank Global Traineeship
The Rabobank Global Traineeship offers you the opportunity to get to know Rabobank in 18 months and to be busy with many interesting facets of the organisation such as Markets, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Innovation, Rabobank Foundation and Rabo Development. You will rotate four times during your traineeship, so you will be working in four different departments.

About this traineeship
These rotations are chosen based on your study background, preference and growth potential. An international rotation can be part of this. In addition, personal development is a big part of the programme, which you will do in different, diverse groups and in several challenges. Whilst working within the different departments, you will also start to improve yourself, both professionally and personally, through (development) training on soft- and hard skills. In addition, a buddy, a former trainee, helps you to find your way within the bank and you will be guided by a talent manager and a mentor. If you successfully complete these 18 months, you will choose a position within Rabobank that suits you best!

Hard criteria - what we expect from you?

  • You are a status holder (in possession of a residence permit for the Netherlands) or currently under temporary EU protection (for example, for Ukrainians);
  • You have a master’s degree (this can be also obtained in your country of origin);
  • You have a maximum of 5 years of work experience. All work experience counts, whether gained in your country of origin or (also) in the Netherlands;
  • You have an excellent command of the English language;
  • You  have a clear motivation for the Global traineeship, your interests and passion;
  • Feedback makes you stronger;
  • You inspire with your story;
  • You encourage others to grow and are eager to grow yourself;

What does Rabobank offer you
If you are selected to start with the Global traineeship, Rabobank offers you a (paid) contract for 18 months (depending on the traineeship). After successfully completing the traineeship you’ll receive a permanent contract.

About the first interview:
On 12, 13 and 14 January (one of these days), you will have an interview with a recruiter and a talent manager of Rabobank in which you’ll introduce yourself and explain your motivation. If there’s a match on both sides, you’ll be invited for a follow up interview. The follow up interview involves working on a business case and addressing more in-depth questions. If you’ll be selected for the traineeship; the starting date will be 1st of April 2026.

To prepare you for the interview day, there’s a mandatory online MPS - Personal Compass workshop organized by Rabobank on Wednesday 7 January, from 10.30 - 11.45hrs and an online preparation session organized by Refugee Talent Hub on Friday 9 January, from 15.00 - 16.00hrs.

Important information:

  • Applicants who meet the “Hard criteria - what we expect from you”' will receive a Google form on: Tuesday, 16 December, to share more about their motivation, interests, and passion;
  • If you meet the hard criteria and complete the Google form, you’ll receive an assessment link from Rabobank on: 27 December;
  • Online MPS - Personal Compass workshop organized by Rabobank: Wednesday 7 January, from 10.30 - 11.45hrs;
  • Online preparation session with Refugee Talent Hub: Friday 9 January, from 15.00 – 16.00 hrs;
  • First interview: 12, 13 and 14 January (one of these days) - location Utrecht;
  • (If selected) the next steps in the selection and interview process will take place during the week of 19 January;
  • Start traineeship: 1st of April 2026;
