A spot in the Global Traineeship and in the Risk & Finance Traineeship!

There’s one spot available in each traineeship. 

1. Risk & Finance Traineeship
In just 18 months, Young Professionals will learn the fine points of Rabobank’s risk and finance management inside and out. You will have the opportunity to work at four different departments within the CFO and CRO domains. At CFO, we contribute to steering the bank via our main activities: accounting, analyzing, reporting, and advising the business. The main responsibilities of the CFO domain are balance sheet management, external accountability & stakeholder management, and internal performance management. Meanwhile, in Risk Management, we ensure we maintain a strong risk & integrity culture across areas like Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, IT Risk, Market Risk, and Climate Risk.

About this traineeship
The programme is designed to give you a broad view by offering rotations across these domains. You can shape your own future! In addition to day-to-day work, Young Professionals work on side projects and join Rabobank’s young professional network in a personal development journey. A buddy system provides you with help in finding your way around the bank and joining social events. You will also receive coaching from a talent manager. After the programme, Young Professionals start the rest of their careers as Risk Managers, Data Scientists, Credit Analysts, Specialists Financial Restructuring, Compliance Officers, Change Coordinators, Project Managers, etc.

2. Global Traineeship
The Rabobank Global Traineeship offers you the opportunity to get to know Rabobank in 16 months and to be busy with many interesting facets of the organisation such as Markets, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Innovation, Rabobank Foundation and Rabo Development. You will rotate four times during your traineeship, so you will be working in four different departments.

About this traineeship
These rotations are chosen based on your study background, preference and growth potential. An international rotation can be part of this. In addition, personal development is a big part of the programme, which you will do in different, diverse groups and in several challenges. Whilst working within the different departments, you will also start to improve yourself, both professionally and personally, through (development) training on soft- and hard skills. In addition, a buddy, a former trainee, helps you to find your way within the bank and you will be guided by a talent manager and a mentor. If you successfully complete these 16 months, you will choose a position within Rabobank that suits you best.

What do we expect from you?

  • You are a candidate with a refugee background and you hold a resident permit in the Netherlands;
  • You have a master’s degree (this can be obtained in your country of origin);
  • You  have maximum 5 years of work experience, this includes all experience gained in your country of origin;
  • You have an excellent command of the English language;
  • You have a clear motivation to work for Rabobank;
  • You have a clear motivation for one of these traineeships;
  • Feedback makes you stronger;

What does Rabobank offer you
If you’re selected to start with one of the traineeships, Rabobank offers you a (paid) contract for 16 or 18 months (depending on the traineeship). After successfully completing the traineeship you’ll receive a permanent contract. 

About the first interview
On 3, 4 and 5 February (one of these days), you will have an interview with a recruiter and a talent manager of Rabobank in which you’ll introduce yourself and explain your motivation. If there’s a match on both sides, you’ll be invited for a follow up interview. The follow up interview involves working on a business case and addressing more in-depth questions. If you’ll be selected for one of the traineeships, the starting day will be 1st of April 2025.

To prepare you for the interview day there’s a mandatory online preparation session organized by Refugee Talent Hub on Thursday 30th January at 12.00 to 13.00 hrs and an online Webinar MPS Process - Discovering Work That You Love, pitch training organized by Rabobank on Thursday 30 January at 15.00 – 16.00 hrs. 

Important information:

  • Location interview day: Utrecht
  • If you meet the hard criteria, you will receive an assessment link from Rabobank during the week of January 21st;
  • Online preparation session: Thursday 30 January at 12.00 – 13.00 hrs;
  • Webinar/online MPS Process - Discovering Work That You Love pitch training offered by Rabobank: Thursday 30 January at 15.00 – 16.00 hrs;
  • First interview: 3, 4, 5 February, location Utrecht;
  • (If selected) further selection procedure in the week of 10 February;
  • Start traineeship: 2nd April 2025;

The deadline for registration is 15 January 2025, at 16.30hrs and please do not forget to upload your CV.  If we have sufficient applications before that date, we will close the registration early.

The applicants who fit the first four criteria under ‘what do we expect from you’ will receive a google form on Wednesday 15 January, 2025. In this form we will ask you some more information; especially about your motivation. Selections to take part in the interview will be made on the basis of this information. Next to the Google form, you will receive an assessment link from Rabobank in the week of 21 January. Selections to take part in the interview will be made on the basis of this information.
