Sweco, together with the Refugee Talent Hub, organizes a mentor program for technical engineers with a refugee background. So, do you aspire to a career in the technical field, but you don't know what steps you need to take in your career? Do you want to expand your network in the technical field? Or will you soon start studying as a technical engineer? Then register for Sweco's new mentor program!

About the mentor program

Sweco offers a mentoring program. Preference is given to participants with a technical background. In the mentoring process, Sweco professionals are linked to you for a period of 4 months. During that period, the professional acts as a mentor and gives you tips and tricks in your search for work in the technical sector. The mentor opens his or her network to you.

Your Sweco mentor will help you one-on-one with matters such as:

  • Set goals for your career and the mentoring program;

  • Create or improve your CV;

  • Create a professional LinkedIn page to present yourself even better on the Dutch labor market;

  • Prepare for future job application procedures by practicing interview questions and discussing what next steps are common when applying to a company;

  • Practice networking and learn how to grow your professional network.

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a refugee background and a technical background;

  • You are looking for a job in the technical sector and want help with that;

  • Your Dutch or English is at a sufficient level to participate in this mentor program;

  • From November 1, you have time to meet with your mentor, check-ins and workshops.

  • You are present at the joint online and live events (see Important dates);

  • Your CV is in our database;

  • You are enthusiastic and motivated to get the most out of the mentor program;

Important data

  • Kick-off (live): November 1, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM (During the kick-off you will be told who you have been paired with).

  • First Check-in (online): December 1, 2022, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (online) (During these sessions you will share your experiences with your peers and you can ask Refugee Talent Hub questions about challenges you are experiencing).

  • Second check-in (online): Feb 2, 2023, 11:00 AM -12:00 PM.

  • Closing event: March 9, 2023 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

**Live meetings will take place at Sweco and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
