Soft Skills Training Workshop: How to succeed in job applications and prepare for the Dutch job market?

Refugee Talent Hub and Shell are jointly organizing a soft skills training in The Hague on November 27 to help refugees succeed in the Dutch labor market. Participants will receive practical guidance on identifying their strengths, creating a striking CV, networking effectively, and improving their job application skills through practice sessions. The workshop is tailored for people with a background in or interest in fields such as engineering, IT, data science, chemistry, energy, sustainability, or finance.

We are thrilled to announce a Soft Skills Training workshop co-organised with our partner Shell on 27 November in The Hague. Learn what your strengths are, how to build them into a strong CV, present yourself confidently, and practice interview skills. This session is focused on strengthening your job application skills and improving your professional presence in the Dutch job market. Don’t miss this opportunity; sign up now, as spots are limited.

What does the workshop involve?
During this live session, Shell and Refugee Talent Hub will offer practical tips and guidance to improve your job application and networking skills. The workshop includes:

  • Tips on how to identify and highlight your strengths, based on your own Strengthscope® assessment, and showcase these in a compelling pitch.
  • Guidance in creating a strong CV that stands out in the Dutch labor market
  • Practical experience in building connections and growing your professional network.
  • An opportunity to practice your interview skills by taking part in mock competency-based interviews.
  • Insights on how recruiters evaluate interview answers.

This workshop is strictly an educational and networking initiative and does not form part of a recruitment or job application process. Shell is not actively recruiting at this moment. Participation in this event does not guarantee employment, constitute a job offer, or imply any promise of a future position with Shell.

About Shell
As one of the world’s leading energy companies, Shell has an important role to play in the energy system of today and tomorrow. The energy transition is not only about technology and infrastructure, but also about the people and skills needed to make it happen. That is why Shell Netherlands, with the Shell Impact Fund, focuses on skills development and improving access to opportunities in the labour market. Together with Refugee Talent Hub, we support refugee talent through workshops that build practical skills, strengthen confidence, and help participants navigate the Dutch job market independently to ensure talent finds their way in the technical sector.
