Introduction

 NTT and the Refugee Talent Hub organize a mentor program. For this program we are looking for candidates with a refugee background who are looking for help finding a job. You will be matched for 5 months with a mentor from NTT. Together with this mentor you will boost your professional development. The program starts on February 10. There is limited space, so register quickly for the NTT mentor program!

 Finding a job with a refugee background is not always easy. For example, because you have a small network, know little about working in the Netherlands or meet few employers. To make finding a job easier, NTT organizes this mentor program for you.

About the mentor program

•  Your NTT mentor will help you one-on-one with matters such as:
•  Set goals for your career and the mentoring program;
•  Create or improve your CV;
•  Create a professional LinkedIn page to present yourself even better on the Dutch labor market;
•  Prepare for future job application procedures by practicing interview questions and discussing what next steps are common when applying to a company;
•  Practice networking and learn how to grow your professional network.

 On the one hand, your mentor will share his/her knowledge, skills and professional network with you. But on the other hand, your mentor can also learn a lot from you! During the physical meetings and online check-ins you will learn more about each other, about work in general and about NTT in particular.

What do we expect from you?

•  You have a refugee background;
•  You are looking for a job and want help with that;
•  You are present at the joint mandatory online and live events (see Important dates);
•  From February 8, you can meet with your mentor online or in real life once a week for 5 months;
•  Required: your Dutch or English is at a sufficient level to participate in this mentor program;
•  Your CV is in our database;
•  You are enthusiastic and motivated to get the most out of the mentor program;
•  You have access to a computer (with camera) and internet, which is necessary for video calling.

Important data

•  Live kick-off: Friday, February 17, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
•  First check-in (online): Monday March 13 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
•  Second check-in (online): Wednesday April 12 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
•  Live Closing event: Monday July 3 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

 *Live meetings will take place at NTT at the Barneveld office and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

About the Mentoring Program

•  As a mentee in the program, you will receive one-on-one guidance and support from a mentor from NTT in multiple ways, including:
•  Setting career goals and formulating concrete next steps for your career during the 5 of the mentor program;
•  Creating/improving your CV and receiving guidance on how to create a professional LinkedIn page to present yourself better on the Dutch labor market;
•  Preparing for future job interviews by practicing interview questions, and discussing how to follow up;
•  Enhancing networking skills and learning how to identify opportunities to grow your network.
