Mentoring Track: Exploring new career steps

As a candidate with a refugee background boosting your career in the Netherlands can be challenging. You may have a small professional network or you are not yet familiar with the Dutch labor market and hiring procedures. Additionally, candidates with a refugee background remain underrepresented on the Dutch labor market. To overcome these challenges PepsiCo - together with Refugee Talent Hub and Tent Partnership for Refugees – are offering this mentor program. About the mentoring program
In this program, you will be matched with a professional from PepsiCo who will support you to boost your professional career in the Netherlands. This program will focus on the specific opportunities and challenges that professionals may encounter in their work. As a mentee in the program, you will receive one-on-one guidance and support from a mentor from PepsiCo in multiple ways, including:

Setting career goals and formulating concrete next steps for your career during the 6 months of the mentor program;
Creating/improving your CV;
Creating a professional LinkedIn page to present yourself better on the Dutch labor market;
Preparing for future job interviews by practicing interview questions and discussing how to follow up;
Enhancing networking skills and learning how to identify opportunities in Dutch labor market to grow your network and learning Dutch way of working;

On the one hand, your mentor will share his/her knowledge, skills, and professional network with you. On the other hand, your mentor can also learn a lot from you! During the physical meetings and online check-ins, you will learn more about each other, work in general, and PepsiCo in particular.

To achieve our ambition, we joined forces with Tent, and launched a multi-year initiative: Refugee Mentorship program. The first three waves of the program were a big success and we look forward to starting wave 4 soon!

Who are we looking for?

You have a refugee background. You have a valid residence permit (temporary/permanent) to stay in the Netherlands or a Dutch passport;
You would like to increase your chances on the labor market;
You are present during the online check-ins and live events (see Important dates below);
From November on, you can meet once every week with your mentor, either in-person or online over the course of 6 months;
Must: your English is at a sufficient level to participate in this mentor program;
You are enthusiastic and motivated to get the most out of the mentor program;
You have access to a device (with camera) and internet for online sessions;

Important dates

Kick-off (live*): 12 November 2024 14:00-17:00 at (PepsiCo Utrecht Office)
First check-in (online): 17 December 2024 14:00-15:00
Interim event: job application skills (live at PepsiCo Utrecht) - 28 January 2025 (Exact Time TBD)
Second check-in (online): 25 February 2025 14:00-15:00
Third check-in (online): 1 April 2025 - 14:00-15:00
Closing event (live*): 6 May 2025 14:00-17:00 (PepsiCo Utrecht Office);

*The live meetings will take place at PepsiCo Headquarters in Utrecht and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Please make sure that your most recent CV has been uploaded on our system;
If you are selected, we will be informing you until the the week before the kick-off event (12th of November). In that case, we expect you to be present during the online and live events (see Important dates) during the program;
The registration deadline is on the 12th of October 2023.
