Mentoring Programme for financial professionals

Finding a job with a refugee background can be challenging. For example, because you have a small professional network, know little about the Dutch labor market and job application procedures, or find it difficult to meet employers. To overcome these challenges, Triodos Bank and the Refugee Talent Hub are offering this programme to you.

About the mentoring programme

Over 99% of all companies in the Netherlands belong to the SME sector (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises). From innovative tech startups in Delft to sustainable manufacturers in the countryside.

We are looking for mentees who are eager to discover why working at a medium-sized company requires a completely different dynamic than working at a corporate. Do you want to find out why the SME sector offers unique opportunities? And are you curious to learn which work environment best suits your talents and background? Apply now and join the program!

During the mentoring programme, you will receive guidance from a mentor from Triodos Bank for 4 months. Together, you will boost your professional development and find your way on the Dutch labour market. You will receive support from your mentor in multiple ways, including:

  • Discovering what your talents / ambitions / competencies / skills / development points are;
  • Discovering which careers / jobs / sectors / companies / courses / trainings are a good fit for you;
  • Improving your CV / LinkedIn page / motivation letters to present yourself better on the Dutch labor market;
  • Practicing job interviews;
  • Enhancing networking skills and learning how to identify opportunities to grow your network.

Please note: the mentor program doesn't guarantee a job. Together with your mentor you will learn HOW to apply for jobs independently and with confidence!

About Triodos Bank

We are living in a crucial time in our history. The wave of change is happening and presents us with great opportunities for systemic transformation: from regenerative agriculture, empowering marginalized groups and smart energy solutions to circular economy businesses. We want to be one of the changemakers that accelerate this transformation through using money as a force for positive change and through advocacy.

As a values-driven financial institution we make money work for positive social, environmental and cultural change. To make sure our influence in these areas is positive we only finance sustainable enterprises, and we only use the ‘real’ money entrusted to us by savers and investors in the real economy.

People make the difference: we at Triodos Bank know that all too well. Together we actively contribute to a sustainable society and this starts of course with our co-workers. Several regular moments of reflection and our systematic attention for personal development help ensure that we can make that difference together. We keep each other focused and are all dedicated to the Triodos Bank mission.
