NN Group

IT mentoring plus programme

Finding a job with a refugee background can be challenging. For example, because you have a small professional network, know little about the Dutch labor market and job application procedures, or find it difficult to meet employers. To overcome these challenges, NN Group and the Refugee Talent Hub are offering this mentoring program to you. There is limited space, so register quickly for the IT Mentoring Plus Programme!

About NN Group

NN Group is an international financial services company, active in 11 countries, with a strong presence in a number of European countries and Japan. Our roots lie in the Netherlands, with a rich history that stretches back over 175 years.

What does the mentor programme involve?

Over the course of 5 months, you'll receive support from a mentor at NN. Together with your mentor, you'll learn about steps you can take to find a job in the Netherlands. By the end of the programme, you and your mentor will have worked on:

  • Creating a strong CV
  • Building a LinkedIn profile
  • Crafting a brief self-introduction (pitch)
  • Writing a compelling cover letter
  • Practising job interviews
  • Expanding your professional network
  • Understanding the Dutch job market
  • Learning about Intercultural communication
  • Gaining knowledge on essential IT programmes and processes at NN

After active participation, you will receive a certificate at the end of the programme.

During the mentor programme, your mentor will share their knowledge, skills, and network with you. But your mentor can also learn a lot from you! You'll also meet other participants and learn more about working and about NN.

You'll talk with your mentor about once a week for 5 months. During these conversations, you'll work on your professional development which will increase both your confidence and your skills to find suitable work in the Netherlands. You'll also participate in events and online meetings with other mentors and mentees. Please realise that this programme is not a full-time training; nor does it give you a guarantee to find a job.
