About the Arcadis Talent Academy

The Arcadis Talent Academy is a six-month program with a paid job as goal. This initiative aims to provide professionals with a refugee background the opportunity to enhance their skills and gain firsthand experience in the Arcadis work environment. The Academy places a strong emphasis on experimental learning, with participants actively engaged in real projects alongside their colleagues. Additionally, participants receive Dutch language training and soft skills development. Throughout the program, each participant is supported by a buddy from within Arcadis (an Arcadian), a team leader or manager, and an external buddy from New Dutch Connections. A dedicated team from Arcadis is involved to ensure a seamless integration within the company.

Available roles

In fields such as:

  • High Voltage Engineering for Energy (Distribution) Systems: Candidates with a Master’s or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, focusing on the design and implementation of electrical installations in infrastructure.
  • Supporting Cost Engineering and Project Calculations: Candidates with a background in (building / construction) engineering or related fields, possessing at least a B1 level in relevant skills.
  • Energy Transition Technical Challenges: Seeking candidates with a Master's or Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering & Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Geo-Information Science, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Technology, Policy and Management, or related fields. Key focus areas include hydrogen, transmission & distribution, and heating.
  • Engineering and Drawing of New Buildings (Non-Housing): Candidates should  have a degree in Architecture, Building construction or Structural Engineering at the Bachelor's or Master's level.
  • Supporting Project Management in Infrastructure, Architectural and Construction Projects: Candidates from various engineering backgrounds with an interest in project management are encouraged to apply.
  • Supporting Finance Department: Candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's in Accountancy or related Finance fields.
  • Supporting Construction Projects with Safety, in Infrastructure, Dangerous Goods or Substances, and the Environment related: Candidates with a Bachelor's in Chemistry, Physics, or Risk Calculation are preferred.
  • Supporting Site Manager, Work Planner, and Estimator: Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Soil Remediation and Piping in the Oil & Gas sector, preferably residing in the northern region of the Netherlands.
  • River Morphology: Bachelor's or Master's students in Hydrology or Water Management, or those with a relevant background in Civil Engineering (Water Management), Earth Sciences, or similar studies.
  • Ecologist: Bachelor's or Master's students in Biology, Ecology, or related fields.
  • Civil Engineering with an Interest in Infrastructure: Bachelor's students in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications. An eagerness to learn design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infraworks, Dynamo, OpenRail, or OpenRoad is essential.
  • Civil Engineers in Water Infrastructure: Candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, interested in exploring ports and hydraulic engineering. Familiarity or experience with Plaxis and the D-series is an advantage.

What we expect from you:

  • Valid Residence Permit: You must hold a valid residence permit. You must hold a valid status (residence permit)
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in both English (minimum B2 level) and Dutch (A2 level preferred) is required for effective oral and written communication. Alternatively, English at A2 level and Dutch at B2 level is also acceptable. Proficiency in both English (B2 level, mandatory) and Dutch (A2 level preferred) for both oral and written communication is required. Alternatively, proficiency in English at A2 level and Dutch at B2 level is acceptable.
  • Educational level: Ability to work and think at HBO or WO level is essential.
  • Travel willingness: Yous sould be willing to travel by train to one of our locations (Amersfoort, Rotterdam, Zwolle or Den Bosch). Urban transport expenses will be covered.
  • Relevant experience: Relevant experience in Electrical Engineering (high or low voltage), Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering & Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, Architecture,  Finance and Accountancy, Urban development or in risks Calculation in infrastructure or environmental risks is desirable
  • Personal Traits: We prefere candidates who are results-driven and proactive team players.
