About Liander

 Liander (part of Alliander) is the largest grid operator in the Netherlands. Liander does not supply energy itself, but makes it possible for other energy suppliers to supply energy to residents and companies.

What will you do as a gas technician?

•  Maintenance and replacement of connecting pipes, low and high pressure networks and stations.
•  Construction and installation of new installations in distribution networks.
•  Resolving customer malfunctions in a safe and fast manner.
•  Breakdown services run in the evenings and weekends. This happens on average once every 5 weeks. First together with a colleague and later (when you are competent) also independently.

What is the learning process like?

 Between mid-June and mid-July 2024: Walk-along day, this is your opportunity to really experience the daily work.

 August 2024: Intensive language education (on location in Duiven but also home study) with the aim of improving your language level from B1 level to B2 level. You are not yet employed, but you will retain your benefits.

 September 2024: If you make sufficient progress in the Dutch language, you will receive a one-year contract with Alliander, you will go to school 1 day a week (again in Duiven) and you will work 4 days.

What really needed?

 This is at least necessary:

•  B1 Dutch language level
•  You are a status holder
•  You live in Gelderland (this is because the training is in Duiven and you will later work in Gelderland!)
•  You have your driver's license
•  You are available full-time (40 hours).
•  You like to work outside and are not afraid of dirty hands ;)

It would be nice if you:

•  Have previous work experience in technology or have completed training in this field.
•  Would you like to learn (from books but also a lot in practice), the energy transition offers many possibilities for the future!

It is important that you know the following:

•  Salary indication as of September 2024: 2500 - 2700 euros gross/month
•  Alliander offers good other conditions such as vacation days, pension and training budget
•  You get your own bus, also for commuting, not for private use
•  An assessment (intelligence, personal motivations) + 1/2 follow-up interviews are part of the recruitment process after the speed date
