ANWB Roadside Assistance is looking for technicians

Our partner ANWB is looking for people to work as a battery service technician at the Roadside Assistance.

If you say ANWB, you also say Roadside Assistance. The ANWB Roadside Assistance resolves 1,250,000 breakdowns every year.

Every day, our roadside assistance and battery service technicians are ready throughout the Netherlands to help ANWB members with starting, replacing batteries or tires, repairing alternators and many other technical inconveniences.

You are one of almost 1000 roadside assistance in the Netherlands! And you work together with colleagues from other departments, for example our planners or employees of the Emergency Center. Although you often travel independently, you never actually feel alone. Of course there is also your regional team at your permanent home base. We park our cars there and you will meet colleagues at the coffee machine. Through Talks – our internal social media – you can stay in touch with colleagues throughout the country and stay informed about all the ins and outs of the world of Roadside Assistance.

About the jobs

As a battery service technician, you are mainly concerned with:

 ●Testing and replacing batteries

 ●Changing tires

●Helping ANWB members who have left their keys in the car

●You work in alternating shifts between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM on the most common breakdown cases. This means that you work day and evening shifts, but you also work half of all weekends and public holidays.

A flat tire or a car that does not start due to battery problems is of course very annoying. But luckily you are already on the road with your fully equipped battery service car. With around 14 new batteries, an impressive starter system, various repair kits and a universal spare wheel, you can solve the most common breakdowns. You use your technical and social skills. You like to help people and you are happy to answer all questions. As a battery service technician you are constantly on the road and always work in a different environment. No working day is the same and you work independently with a lot of freedom.

An ANWB car mechanic resolves technical faults quickly, inventively and definitively so that our members can get back on the road safely.

●This means that not only your technical knowledge must be up to standard, but also your social skills. You are a source of support for people with bad luck or problems

●You work according to a roster (weekdays and weekends)

●Depending on your skills, we will look at where you could start within the Roadside Assistance organization. For example, you could start at our Service Center. As soon as we mutually agree that you are ready to hit the road, you can hit the road in a service car.

In this position you can further develop into the position of roadside assistance or teacher. ANWB offers all kinds of internal training courses for this.

About the speed date

This activity takes place in Utrecht. You will receive a tour and experience the working atmosphere of ANWB. After a short presentation about the work of the Roadside Assistance and a coffee break, the speed dates start. You will speak to ANWB employees and will have the opportunity to tell more about yourself.

If ANWB and you are enthusiastic, you will be invited to ride with a colleague and then have a second conversation. Suitable candidates can start working at ANWB soon afterwards; the goal is for the first people to start in March 2024.
